Who Are We?

In short, we are your neighbors!

We started as the Dearborn Area Nature Alliance in 2020 with a goal to protect the natural environments in the park. We wanted to make it a healthier park that is safer for all of us!

We had our work cut out for us. So, in 2025 we joined forces with Friends of Dearborn Park!

What's the difference between the two? Well, not much really.

Friends of Dearborn Park works on the section of park that is owned and managed by DeKalb County. This is the majority of the park that we all enjoy, including the playground.

Dearborn Area Nature Alliance takes the lead on the efforts that are limited to the City of Decatur section of park, adjacent to Dearborn Circle.
